Your Home Base

Wimberley

The classic Hill Country home base — a walkable square of shops and galleries, creekside dinners, and most of our favorite stays, all about twenty minutes from your ceremony.

Why couples base here

Wimberley is the town most couples picture when they picture a Hill Country wedding trip: a historic square you can wander in an afternoon, Cypress Creek running right through the middle of it, and dinner spots where nobody rushes you out. Whether it's just the two of you or the whole guest list, this is the easy answer.

It's also where most of our stay and dinner picks live, from treehouses and stargazing yurts to hotels right on the square — several of which a group can buy out entirely. Mornings are for coffee and browsing, afternoons for Blue Hole or a winery patio, evenings for a long table somewhere on the creek. We've tucked Driftwood's hilltop wineries into this list too — they're an easy drive just north of town.

One local tip: on Market Days weekends (first Saturday of the month, in season) the town fills up fast — book your stay early, or lean into it and make the market part of the trip.
