Your Ceremony

Bringing your pet

The short answer

Yes — your pet is welcome in your ceremony. Two rules: on a leash, and with a designated handler who isn't one of you two.

Some of the best ceremony photos we've seen have a dog in them. Couples marrying with us are welcome to include their own pet, with one simple rule that makes it work:

  • On a leash, the whole time.
  • With a designated handler — someone other than the two of you, who's responsible for your pet (and any cleanup) from arrival to departure. You'll have your hands full with rings, vows, and each other.

The classic play: your pet walks the processional with the handler, sits front-row for the vows, stars in ten minutes of photos, and then gets whisked home before the sendoff.

A handler tip: pick someone your pet already knows and trusts, bring high-value treats, and do a bathroom stop before the ceremony — the Hill Country drive is longer than a city dog thinks.
