Make a Trip of It

Make It a Wedding Getaway

Your wedding doesn't have to end at the altar. Come to the Hill Country a day early — or stay a few after. Say your vows at the chapel, then spend the rest of the trip exploring wineries, floating rivers, and lingering over long dinners. It's a wedding and a mini-honeymoon in one.

The lay of the land

The chapel sits in the hills between Wimberley and Canyon Lake, about an hour from both Austin and San Antonio. If you or guests are flying in, the Austin (AUS) or San Antonio (SAT) airports are both great options and a similar distance to here.

Everything in this guide is within about 40 minutes of the chapel, and you genuinely can't pick wrong — the three areas just have three different personalities. Pick the one that sounds like your people, then dive into its guide. And when it's time to head to your ceremony, we have turn-by-turn directions ready.

Pick your home base

Three areas, three personalities. Each one has its own guide — where to stay, where to eat, and what to do with the rest of your wedding weekend.

Staying a few extra days? There's also our Fredericksburg day trip guide — Texas wine country, about an hour and a half northwest of the chapel.

Your Hill Country map

See how the three areas sit around the chapel. Pins are colored by area — the icons still show what each spot is (stay, eat, or do). Tap a pin, then jump to its full card on the area's guide.

Tap any pin for details. Pin placement is approximate — always follow the address on the venue's own site.
