Your Ceremony

Chapel layout & seating

White chairs in rows with a center aisle — 48 set by default, and every guest gets a seat (the two of you stand at the altar). The questionnaire asks how many of your wedding party stand with you. Choose your backdrop there too.

Seating

The chapel is set with white chairs in rows on either side of a center aisle. We set 48 chairs by default; if your final guest count (from your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire) is higher, we add chairs to match — every guest gets a seat, even at a full 70-person Premier wedding (the two of you will be standing at the altar, after all). If your wedding party is standing at the front with you, they won't need chairs — the questionnaire asks how many will be standing, and we set the room to match.

Guests seat themselves — for a ceremony this size, ushers are optional. If you want reserved rows for parents and grandparents, a simple ribbon or a sign on the front rows does it (see decorating the chapel).

Your backdrop

Behind you as you say your vows, you have choices:

  • The chapel as it is — the arched window and clean white walls need no help.
  • The free-standing cross — ours, no charge; just choose it in your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire and we'll have it set for your ceremony.
  • The Decorative Backdrop add-on — lush white floral and greenery pillars framing the arched window. Add it from your couples dashboard.

Accessibility

If any of your guests use a wheelchair or need an aisle seat, text us at (830) 402-5690 ahead of time and we'll make sure the setup works for them.

Decor & Details

Decorating the chapel

Decorate freely at ground level — flowers at the altar, arrangements lining the aisle and chairs — but nothing attaches to the walls, and everything you bring comes back out by the end of your window.

The chapel photographs beautifully empty — white walls, arched window, Hill Country light. Which means anything you add reads as intentional. Here's how decorating works.

What works

  • Ground-level decor is yours to play with: floral arrangements at the altar area, lanterns or flowers lining the aisle, arrangements beside the chairs.
  • Reserve-your-row touches — ribbon or small signs on the front rows for family.
  • A backdrop moment — the chapel's free-standing cross (choose it in your questionnaire, no charge) or the Decorative Backdrop add-on's white floral pillars. More in Chapel layout & seating.

The two rules

  1. Nothing attaches to the walls. No tape, no hooks, no exceptions — the room's clean lines are the point.
  2. In and out within your window. Setup starts when your window opens; every last stem and lantern leaves before it closes. Assign a wrap-up person and keep the boxes.

Planning something ambitious — a florist install, arch pieces, anything that hangs or towers? Text a photo of the plan to (830) 402-5690 before the day and we'll tell you exactly what works.

Your florist is one of the welcome vendors — send them chapeltx.com/guide/vendors so they know the load-in rules.

Arrival & Day Of

Directions & arrival

Search "The Chapel at Wimberley" in Google Maps and it routes you straight to us — 644 Ghost Dancer, about 20 minutes from Wimberley between Austin and San Antonio. Doors open when your window begins.

Finding us

The chapel sits in the Texas Hill Country about 20 minutes from Wimberley, between Austin and San Antonio.

644 Ghost Dancer, Fischer, TX 78623

Searching "The Chapel at Wimberley" in Google Maps routes you right to our door — that's the easiest thing to put on your invitations and share with vendors. Cell service can get spotty in the hills, so have your navigation running before you leave the main roads. For turn-by-turn directions from Austin or San Antonio, see our directions page.

About the last stretch: the final ~1.3 miles to the chapel are a Hill Country dirt road — that's the normal way in, and every car handles it just fine. When the pavement ends, you're almost here; keep following your navigation.

When to arrive

  • You (the couple): the chapel is privately yours from the minute your window opens — walk in at the start. Signature and Premier couples head straight to the getting-ready rooms.
  • Your guests: 15–20 minutes before the ceremony start time is the sweet spot — enough time to park, find a seat, and enjoy the prelude music without waiting around. Out-of-towners running early? The doors open when your window begins — our directions page lists easy nearby stops to pass the time.
  • Your vendors: at the window start, not before — details on the vendor page.

The comfortable part

The chapel is fully enclosed and air-conditioned — August vows without a bead of sweat, February vows without coats. Tell your guests to dress for the photos, not the weather.

Vendors & Helpers

Vendor arrival & guidelines

Photographers, videographers, officiants, coordinators, florists, and musicians are welcome — arriving when the couple's window opens and wrapping before it closes. Vendors never count toward the guest count.

If a couple sent you this page: welcome — this is everything you need for a smooth day at The Chapel at Wimberley.

Who's welcome

These outside vendors are welcome on the premises:

  • Photographer
  • Videographer
  • Officiant
  • Coordinator
  • Florist
  • Musician (violinist, guitarist, and the like)

Any other vendor needs prior written approval from the venue — have your couple text us at (830) 402-5690 before the day.

Timing

The couple has the chapel for a private window, generally 1.5 hours or 3.5 hours (their timeline shows how it flows). Vendors arrive when the window opens and depart by the time it closes — load-in, work, and load-out all live inside it. There's no early-access slot, so plan staging accordingly.

Good to know

  • You don't count toward the guest count — vendors are working the ceremony, and you're welcome throughout it.
  • Officiants: a clear acrylic podium is available if you'd like one — no need to arrange it ahead of time. It lives in a storage closet at the chapel; just ask when you arrive and we'll grab it.
  • Musicians: bring your own amplification if you want it. The chapel's built-in system streams from a phone over AirPlay; it isn't a plug-in PA. Full details: chapeltx.com/guide/musician.
  • Florists: decor is ground-level only, nothing attached to the walls, and every install comes back out before the window ends. Full rules: decorating the chapel.
  • Photographers: the chapel is fully enclosed and air-conditioned with an arched window behind the altar; all photos — including grounds — wrap by window close.
  • We do not require a certificate of insurance from you.
